Children playing outside at Horizon micro community

Are you concerned about your home’s water quality? Fortunately, there are several things you can do to keep your home’s drinking water safe: install a water conditioning system; use a water quality testing kit to test your water’s cleanliness; or better yet, call on Haller’s expert residential water testing services to give you the peace of mind of knowing your drinking water is safe and pure.

World Water Quality Statistics

As most of us know, many people around the world have limited or no access to clean, safe drinking water. The World Health Organization provided these details in an article from June 14th, 2019:

2.2 billion people without safely managed drinking-water services in 2017 included:

  • 1.4 billion people with basic services, meaning an improved water source located within a round trip of 30 minutes
  • 206 million people with limited services, or an improved water source requiring more than 30 minutes to collect water
  • 435 million people taking water from unprotected wells and springs
  • 144 million people collecting untreated surface water from lakes, ponds, rivers and streams

The Word Health Organization also continues to clarify that “contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio,” but illnesses such as “diarrhea [are] largely preventable, and the deaths of 297,000 children aged under 5 years could be avoided each year if these risk factors were addressed.”

With the hardships of unsafe drinking water in mind, and our commitment to Enriching Lives in our community and beyond, we decided to partner with a local non-profit organization to support clean water efforts across the world. This organization is Horizon: Empower the Orphaned – located in Lancaster, they empower orphaned children around the world to regain their identity and find their purpose by providing an enriching education and nurturing care. They accomplish this through a Micro-Community model. Each Micro Community is a real neighborhood for kids anchored by culturally relevant, family-centered living.

Horizon has necessary repairs on three existing well systems, as well as a project to build a new well (pending engineer analysis) at their newest Community in Guatemala, all to provide clean water to their children. The best part is they have a 100% Promise: “All Horizon’s operational costs are covered by investors, which means 100% of your donations go straight to caring for the children.”

Haller Enterprises partnership with Horizon will run for the months of March and April. During that time, when you purchase any water conditioning or treatment product for your own home, we will donate $50 to Horizon’s well projects! If you have been concerned about the quality of your water, now is the time to make a difference in your family’s lives, as well as the lives of children around the world.
